Since Etruscan and Roman times, enjoying a relaxing and restoring day at a spa has been an important tradition in this part of Tuscany. The very towns names in these valleys attest to this ancient custom and to the many spas which characterise the Val d’Orcia and Val di Chiana. Today, you can still revel in these hot springs baths to your heart’s content.

There are two ways to enjoy hot springs, and we will be happy to tell you of both options. You can do it the luxury way, reserve a day at a spa, get massages, mud-baths and much more. Or you can do it the traditional way. It’s a bit more adventurous, but the resulting experience is far more magical.

Bagno Vignoni

In itself already a lovely, quaint medieval village, is well worth a visit, with its main piazza completely occupied by a huge pool. But if you take the paths up the nearby hills, you will discover many natural hot springs forming their own natural pools, where you are free to bathe and enjoy the warm spa waters.

Bagni San Filippo

Though the village in itself is not particularly interesting, taking a walk in the surrounding hills, you will end up at the amazing Fosso Bianco waterfall, where you can freely bathe all year round, or you can discover the breathtaking streams of L’Acqua Passante, with their rich mineral waters.
